Dana Wilson (Tenor)

Dana Wilson's performance repertoire extends from early renaissance music to contemporary jazz. Mr. Wilson earned his education at the Loyola College of Music and Fine Arts in his native New Orleans. He now performs in the Philadelphia region, throughout the US, and internationally in opera, operetta, oratorio, in recital, and as a chamber music soloist.

Dana is particularly noted for his communicative expression, musicality, and his musical sensitivity in works of the Renaissance and Baroque genres, for being equally and artistically versatile in his performance of the Classical and Romantic repertoire as well as his distinctive and authentic musical interpretation of German Lied, French Melodie and of the "Art Song" genre.

As a solo artist he has performed oratorio and operatic works with the Festival de St. Louis Orchestra in Paris, The Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia, The Choral Arts Society of Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Singers and Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Vox Amadeus Ensemble, The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and Pensacola Symphony. Mr. Wilson's performance credits include Handel's Messiah with The Helena Symphony, under conductor Steven Sametz with the Lehigh University Philharmonic as the Roasted Swan in Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and Honegger's King David with The Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia.

Upcoming engagements include Mozart's Requiem with the Louisiana Philharmonic, Mendelssohn's Symphony # 2, Lobegesang, with the Kutztown University Orchestra, and Mozart's Grand Mass in C in Philadelphia's Kimmel Center.

Mr. Wilson performs and has recorded with leading chamber music organizations throughout the country. He has toured with The Santa Fe Desert Chorale and has recorded with Grammy nominated, and internationally renowned vocal ensemble, Conspirare.

Other appearances have included performances with Concert Operetta Theater Philadelphia, in recital on New York City’s popular concert series at Trinity Wall Street with the Carmel Bach Festival, Carmel, Ca., and most recently with Seraphic Fire and the Russian National Orchestra.

In addition to his music work, Dana is a collegiate baseball umpire with The Collegiate Baseball Umpires Assigning Organization and The New Jersey Football Officials Association. He is also a very passionate reptile enthusiast. He enjoys people, travelling, fishing, flying, film and fine dining.
