

Elizabeth Lau (Conductor)

Elisabeth Lau is the Music Director of The Music Association of Auckland and of the Mozart Orchestra. She is a graduate of the University of Auckland with Bmus (Hons) and DipMus (Post Perf.) where she studied conducting with Dr. Karen Grylls and Associate Professor Uwe Grodd. Elisabeth also studied piano accompaniment with Rae de Lisle and holds degrees on double bass performance as well as in composition. Since Elisabeth returned from the Czech Republic, she has made her conducting debut with the Manukau Symphony Orchestra and since then has directed many community choirs, ensembles and orchestras. In 2011, she will be working as a conducting intern with Auckland Choral as well as being the director for the Symphony Orchestra of the Auckland Primary Principals Association. As a freelance musician, Elizabeth shares her time between piano teaching, piano accompanying, conducting, chamber music coaching and double bass playing.
